Nutrition

Nutrition and eating right are very important to us at Bentonville Prep. Guidelines are set by the State of Arkansas to ensure we are feeding our students a balanced diet, but we want to take it a step further: we want our students to be part of the process. Studies show that the more involved a child is in making nutritious decisions, the better that child is able to continue these skills later in life. When possible, our students will help prepare their meals and snacks. They will choose if they prefer one fruit to another. We want them to feel good about the choices they are making and to begin to appreciate and understand how their food starts in the ground and ends on their plate.

We will always do our best to provide organic fruits and vegetables, locally grown, when in season. We will not serve anything that we ourselves would not eat or serve in our home. We want to introduce new foods in a friendly and welcoming way to encourage the pickiest eaters that new things aren’t scary.

We know that what we put into our children’s bodies can determine their mood, their ability to focus and their ability to communicate with one another. Most importantly, we want our parents to feel good about what their child is eating every day at Bentonville Preparatory. Our promise to you is that we will always do right by your child.
